Police Explorers Program

The Explorer Post is sponsored by the Berwyn Police Department and chartered through the Boy Scouts of America, Learning for Life Division. Our post began in 1998 with the auspices of assisting youth interested in Community Awareness and/or Law Enforcement involving them in police oriented training and community service.

Some of the projects the Police Explorers are involved with are:
  • Earth Day
  • Assisting Senior Residents
  • Participate in Honor Guard Competition
  • Learning military tactics
  • Police activities such as ride along with police officers, radio calls, traffic assistance, etc.
  • Special activities planned each year for the Explorers such as, pool party, picnic, bowling outings, trips to Great America and more.

Kids between the ages of 14 and 21 and in high school or college who are interested in joining the Police Explorers program are encouraged to contact Detective Carmelita Terry at 708-795-2155 with any questions.
